I had the same problem which I worked around by opening PhotoBooth and selecting the built in iSight camera, effectively tying it up so that the other application only found the logitech cam available and used it by default. no config at all... good luck. here’s a quick workaround for those of you who just want to use a USB webcam like a logitech.
