You can also set a website to think the device is being viewed on an iPhone or similar product (even if it is a desktop) with a properly set meta tag and some PHP code.

I'm new to iPhone 4. Can anyone please tell me why I keep getting a message that pops up to reduce my screen resolution to 800-600 when on the Internet? How do I adjust my screen resolution? Thank you in advance for any advice :-)

4 time as many pixels, but only because it's a 2d object. you're multiplying each side by two, therefore it's twice the resolution.

It actually has deeper blacks, and has a better contrast than the 3G, so while it might seem yellow in comparison, the 3G is actually "too" white, and the iPhone 4 is closer to a true white.

The iOS simulator in xcode, the application for developing iPhone apps, has the real version of safari that is running on an iPhone, so that's probably the best you'll get. Available in the mac app store for 5 bucks, not sure about pc. other than that... dunno.

And yet no Flash. I still embarass my friend when I compare my year old Nexus One to his iPhony 4.

Not so much "blow any smartphone out of the water" as "just plain blows".

Does anyone know what the hight of the status bar is on 4G. I guess it doubled with the resolution to 40px, doesn't it?

@sam
"... unless you add the following tag"
hmm, I'm afraid that interesting tag has been swallowed somehow.
Did you mean something like the following?:

{meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; minimum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=0;"/}
