Im the same. I tried osx on a advent 4211. Loved it from the word go. It just all worked so smoothly and just felt like popping bubble wrap! ooh nice! I went and bought a familly pack from ebay, fully sealed, fully legit. When I buy another computer it will be a mac.
I think hackintosh is the gateway (drug) to mac LOL

I'm now an Apple hardware customer due to getting to try OSX 10.6.3 on the Dell Mini 9 (retail disk from amazon, need to insert 10.6.2 kernel)
I thought I was too much of a tight arse to pay the rip off price for average Intel spec Apple hardware. I hate ipods and iphones and despise iTunes.
I'm sad enough to have always enjoyed the tech challenges and tinkering with windows machines, mostly with gaming in mind (hence taking on the hackingtosh project in the first place and built without using mac) but I've started to run out of time and patience as I get older.
My first 48 hours with OSX was almost a theraputic experience. I think the hackingtosh community is very healthy for Apple, many users go on to buy real macs, as do the ones who fail.
If Apple ever put a stop to it, they seriously need to look at doing a loan scheme for mac computers, so even die hard windows users like me can walk into a shop and borrow one for 48 hours.
After my last windows update Blue Screen of death, I'm only glad my PC didn't go through the window and have something left to sell before it's worthless.

[...] OS X Daily reports on a discovery that Apple’s latest developer build of Mac OS X 10.6.2 disables support for Intel’s Atom processor. While Apple’s exact motive for the change is unknown, the result is that users who have modified their Atom-powered netbooks to run OS X will be unable to easily apply the 10.6.2 update should the change remain in effect for its public launch.
I don't think it's a big deal to me since my hackintosh works fine with the previous versions of OSX. I guess it would be nice to continue updating but I don't see huge benefits to doing so.
