Quickly Reboot, Log out, and Sleep your Mac

Here’s three helpful tips for quickly rebooting, shutting down, logging out, or sleeping your Mac:

Immediately Reboot Mac OS X
Control + Command + Eject

Immediately Shutdown Mac OS X
Command + Option + Control + Eject

Immediately Log User Out of Mac OS X
Control + Option + Shift + Q

Immediately Put Your Mac to Sleep
Command + Option + Eject (hold the buttons down for 2 seconds)

and a bonus tip!

Immediately Shut Off Your Mac Display
Shift + Control + Eject

    I want a shortcut that puts the display to sleep (but doesn’t put my mac to sleep) similar to the expose’ hot corner. I use it to “lock my screen” when I step away from my desk…

    Immediately Log User Out of Mac OS X
    Command + Option + Shift + Q

    NB: This is true for Snow Leopard

    The above mentions ‘Control’ which doesn’t work.
