I am running 10.6.8 in my iMac and I want to add that I need to re-boot my computer to make it work or the Trackpad only shows up in word-processing software, not in emails nor other places like Google, FB etc.

You will see the possible choices aligned left and right as Chinese characters. Pretend those are buttons aligned along the edges of your trackpad. Touch the trackpad in appropriate positions, along left or right edge, to select.

I believe this function is only available on Snow Leopard. 10.5.8 is still Leopard and not Snow Leopard (which is the 10.6 series).

I have 10.5.8 too, I wish I had this function!!!!! But maybe it's silly to upgrade just for that...
