That's just not above-board. It treats users as objects to be manipulated at will (as in some cases Apple does, BTW), for commercial purposes. I also agree that it is resource-intensive. On the other hand, html5 seems to have forgotten about full-sceen mode, which I use a lot. I hope that gets fixed as the standard evolves.
