Hi i was trying to jailbreak the iphone 3g and everytime the redsnow trys to fetch the ipad base it stops working ive tryed to run it as admin and still no luck.. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

u should jailbreak using the redsn0w 0.9.10b5; click jailbreak; put iphone into dFW mode (i think thats what it is) and at the selection screen u need to click cydia (already selected); baseband upgrade (must click to do any unlocking); and then deactivate. let it run. Congratz u completed the first step.

Now at this point do not put any GSM card in. go to cydia app; and go to manage>sources>add sources; u need to add repo666.ultrasn0w.com; then go to search and search for ultrasn0w. install it; and u have unlocked ur iphone.

HELP PLEASE!!! My ipod touch is BRICKED. I have tried everything, looked at tutorials on youtube, google and nothing works! I had a tethered jailbreak on my itouch 3g on the 5.01 firmware. My batteries ran out, and of course i tried to reboot it through redsn0w but it didn’t work! No matter what i did, it was stuck at the apple logo. I tried restoring it through itunes but the error 1600 kept coming up. I tried everything from custom firmwares, SHSH, itunes restore, ifaith, ireb, downgrading, pwnagetools. Everything i knew how to do and from tutorials on both mac and windows. Now my ipod is stuck on the usb with the arrow pointing at the itunes symbol. When i try to restore error 21 comes up. IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN HELP ME? IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I have iPhone 3g, 8GB (Jail broke & Unlocked) version 4.1 and baseband 6.15.00 and now i want to update it to version 4.2 so can anyone tell me whether i first have to update it from itunes or not?
from where i can get custom ipsw 4.2?

I tried directly jail breaking with 4.2 IPSW from redsnOw i.e without updating from itunes but nothing happened the version of iphone is still showing 4.1?

I would really appreciate if anyone can help me with this.

you guys are noobs this is a tetherd jailbreak so u have to plug your ipod touch… into your comp and run redsn0w again you will have to do this every time u shut down your ipod touch…

other generation is not yet supported.
perhaps this is why ya’all iPhone 3GS stucked

Are you using windows? If so, are you receiving a message saying “redsnow has stopped responding” and you must restart the program?
If this is the case, you need to go to your start bar and search for the program “run”. Run this “run” program, and enter “regedit” into the text box that appears.
From the system directory that appears, go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Windows\ErrorMode
and change the number there to 2.

Then go to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\DontShowUI

and change the value to 1.

This will stop the error message from appearing, allowing the program to continue running. I had the same problem and following these steps helped me.
