same situation here, all the apps I need I already have on my Mac… I hope it spurs more development for Mac OS X but in the meantime it’s all things that were already available elsewhere.

You could be right about restricting apps in the future. On the other hand, there are an awful lot of Mac developers out there already. On the other hand, I was pretty much underwhelmed by the current offerings on the Mac App Store. Found little of interest and even less than I already knew about. I removed it from the Dock; don’t need it to take up space.

Yup, that’s what it seems like. Especially with Mac OS X Lion in the wings. OS X will even look like iOS. This won’t phase many Appleniks but it might scare away potential Windows converts.

Who much you wanna bet that, in the future, they will restrict our software purchases to those AUTHORIZED and available on the macc app store (like they do with IOS)

I think this is great move for apple. In the past Macs have always had issues with developers producing programs and games. But with the iPhone and iPad developers will naturally want to close the loop and produce the program for the entire apple line. I can’t wait to see what happens to by the end of the year. Could we have a billion apps?

I love the Mac App store. I reviewed the applications that I have on my Mac and actually removed a few that I never use (strange way to celebrate, I know), but then added a couple new ones that I had been previously considering and now finally decided to get. Installation from the store is charmingly simple.

I noticed this too with the floating window action buttons that sit next to the back/forward buttons rather than above them. Could be a trend, although I don’t know how I feel about it.

Anyone have word on how to change this back to normal?

As an aside, it is interesting to note that; similar to the way that iTunes 10.x departed from standard interface design (a la Title Bar and window controls), so too with the App Store application button bar / Title bar.
