iPad 2 Pictures Leaked? Nope, Just Great Looking Mockups

Here’s a few pictures of iPad 2 mockups, presumably based off of the leaked case designs that have made the rounds on various Chinese websites. You’ll notice it looks pretty similar to the iPad 2 hardware mockup that Engadget found at CES inside an iPad case.

These pictures originally appeared on MicGadget who initially claimed they were leaked pictures of iPad 2 before correcting the story saying they were just mockups. Mockups or not, I think these look great.

Here are some more pictures:

Whoever made these obviously took some of the ideas from the rumor mill to sway the design too. Do these get you excited to see the next iPad or what? It looks kind of like a tablet version of the MacBook Air, which is a good thing. Thanks to Mike via CultOfMac for the tip.

You can tell these pictures are more accurate than the others, for on the other pictures of the iPad 2 (which look almost identical to this design) say “iPad 2” on the back. Whomever made these pictures knew what they were doing because does the new iPhone 4 say “iPhone 4” on the back? No. It only says “iPhone”. Also, the pictures have the little plug-in on the right side of the iPad which is noticeable in the new cases designed for the iPad 2nd generation. What does this little notch do? We don’t know. I only can hope that the two cameras have high megapixels on them.

“Excited” about a tablet computer? No half-way sensible person gets “excited” about this kind of thing – it’s just a tool for heaven’s sake! It’s like asking if I’m excited by a new screwdriver!
