I use my iPad both for reading and for working, and I'm constantly locking and unlocking the screen orientation. A mute isn't something a user needs to frequently turn on and off, and even if they do, the functionality was already there. And no, it isn't a matter of double tapping the home button. What was a one-step process is now a four-step process to lock or unlock the orientation- double click the home button, swipe the tray to the right, tap the lock symbol, click the home button to close the tray. This change never should have been made in the first place, and I'm very pleased that they're giving us the option to change it back. @Peter

And no, it isn’t a matter of double tapping the home button. What was a one-step process is now a four-step process to lock or unlock the orientation- double click the home button, swipe the tray to the right, tap the lock symbol, click the home button to close the tray.

This change never should have been made in the first place, and I’m very pleased that they’re giving us the option to change it back.
