Mac Lion theme for Windows 7

Are you stuck with a Windows PC at work? Maybe you just prefer the look of Mac OS X to Windows? If you’re bored of the Mac OS X 10.6 theme for Windows, spice things up with an all new Mac OS X 10.7 Lion theme for Windows 7! The theme pack is pretty detailed and it brings the illusion of having Mac OS X Lion running on a Windows PC, complete with the new Lion wallpapers and all.

You can grab the skin and theme pack from DeviantArt

Look for the download link on the right side of the DA page. Obviously you’ll need Windows 7 to use this, but you’ll also have to download a couple programs for Windows that allow you to further customize your desktop. These include Reshacker, Universal Theme Patcher, Moveex, JPGtoBMP, leftsider, RocketDock, UberIcon, VirtuaWin, and YzShadow. Don’t worry, there’s links to download all of these on the themes DeviantArt page.

If this theme pack doesn’t satisfy you, just get a Mac. You know you want one anyway.

What about those of use who are stuck with a mac at work and want it to look like a Windows 7 pc? After spending a month with osx lion I now understand. Mac is the fisher-price of computers. It can’t do 1/1000th of the things I can do on a Win 7 pc. It works like it is designed for children and it looks ridiculous. I hated Steve Jobs before I used a mac now I loathe him. I guess the 99% of the population who don’t really know computers can be happy with their moronic apple products. For those of us who do know, I thank you for leaving pc’s and android alone.

Chuckles* it really is amuzing to read all the comments above.

All I will say is, that a company that does not recognice Blue-Ray, HDMI, etc. or for that matter has adopted a policy of that because Adobe would not create software specifik for Mac because Abobe believed the market to be too small, turns and says “screw the standards, well make our own that isnt standard, that no one else in the whole world has; it simply cannot be taken serious in any form or shape.

Like an italian toaster. The design is pretty, yes, admitted, but it is about as usefull as a moondust.

    • Raven Lee says:

Sorry, but I don’t follow you. Blue-Ray is what? I’ve heard of Sony’s Blu-Ray though.

Is the company that you are talking about called Apple? The one that adopted Blu-Ray before most PC companies? The one that eliminated the stupid floppy drive? The one that created Firewire and adopted USB before most PC companies even considered bringing out PC’s with USB, and created the usb peripheral market single handedly? The one that brought HDMI output to the iPhone/iPod family? http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/03/02/apple_brings_hdmi_output_to_iphone_4_ipad_ipad_2/

The one that created the breakaway, magnetic power coupling? The one that created Thunderbolt? The company that is the biggest company in the world and that employs 60,000 workers? The company that is the number 1 in design? The one that sets the standards and leads the way while others mimic badly and copy? Android? Window? MP3 players? Tablets? Anyone?

The one that champions HTML 5, a universal standard, over a proprietary Adobe owned technology that businesses have to pay licenses for every year? The company that built Webkit to allow others to build their own browsers? The one that brought out Darwin and released it for free, the core of the Mac OS X?

Apple didn’t lead the way on MP3 players or Blu-Ray or tablets… They still only have a crappy “SuperDrive” that only lets you burn and play DVDs, not Blu-Ray… The MP3 player was invented WAY before Apple invented the iPod, and tablets were around for appx. 10 years before the iPad came around, and with twice the functionality for the same cost 10 years ago as the iPad was when it was first released.
Thunderbolt isn’t that impressive… It’s primary uses are for displays (when would you need 10Gb/s bandwidth for video…) and data transfer (USB 3.0 is only half as fast as Thunderbolt, which considering the fact that most people wouldn’t need to transfer an HD movie in less than a minute, isn’t really that valuable).
It doesn’t set standards, it rips them off from other companies that makes them first and then adds a shiny aluminum case.
You sir, do not know what you’re talking about…

    • Maj says:

you are so stupid that you forgot you are talking about apple.

    Is this virus free??

  21. Advait says:

I installed the theme/skin successfully but now when I play youtube videos my shochwave (adobe) plugin crashes. The same happens if I use chrome or firefox. Is it because of this lion skin? because I did not make any other change.

  22. Frederick says:

I’m using the Mac Os X Lion for windows 8.0 x64.
I installed the software minutes ago and it imediately struck me with the quite new fresh view.
But soon I met a few questions.
I’d like to know how to disable a single component of the software pack. For example, the JumpPad seems to be unuseful for me because I’m used to using Fences to manage all of my icons.
    How should I do?

    • Frederick says:

I finally found the solution myself – just delete the unuseful components directly…

It surprised me that even did I move the folders that after restarting, the program will find the component files and run them…

  23. Waseem says:

i cant seem to save the rocket dock stettings it says that settings.ini is read only and thats why i cant save the icons on it. please help what do i do

    • Frederick says:

maybe disable “Store Settings in a Portable INI” in the dock setting will do.

    • kira says:

all you have to do is disable “Store Settings in a Portable INI” in the dock setting and navigate to the settings.ini file and delete it customize rocket the way you wanted and then restart that will fix it ^_^

  24. Connie says:

Do you know if there’s anyway to completely uninstall the theme… I tried using the uninstall option under the start menu folder but I’m still left with various icons looking like Mac icons

    • Samuel says:

      Hello Connie,

Did your solve you problem? I have also come across the same problem, do you know how to uninstall the Mac themes completely?

      Thanks a lot!
