You’ll assemble a team of customizable warriors, travel between worlds, master Jedi powers, and so much more. If you like Star Wars and RPG’s and you haven’t played KOTOR yet, start blocking out chunks of your time to play this game, it’s a ton of fun and highly addictive.

You’ll wield crazy powers and brutal weapons as you explore and fight your way through a failed utopian world. Often considered one of the best games of all time, there’s elements of stealth and RPG’s mixed in there to keep things unique.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare – $39.99 – COD4 is usually $50, and if you’re a gamer the chances are high you’ve played or at least heard endlessly about it. Call of Duty 4 is an incredible war game, you’re a soldier on the ground but you’ll call in air strikes, use a huge variety of weapons, fly around in helicopters, just about everything that you’d expect in an FPS. Other than being a phenomenal first person shooter with a great storyline, Call of Duty 4 really shines in multiplayer mode where you’ll participate in huge battles against people from all around the world. This game is so popular for a reason, it rocks!

Modern Combat: Domination

Modern Combat: Domination – $12.99 – Modern Combat Domination is a multiplayer first person shooter with an emphasis on teamwork. Play online in teams of 8 against another squad in classic shooter modes like Capture the Flag. Especially compared to some of the other more popular shooters, this game is a steal for $13, with great graphics and gameplay.

Be sure to check out the system requirements for each individual game in this list before you buy, the requirements vary per game and you’ll want to make sure the game runs on your Mac. Generally if you have a newer Mac they shouldn’t be a problem, but obviously the newer and better your Mac and its video card, the better games will play.

Don’t want to buy anything? Already maxed out your gaming budget for the month? Don’t forget to grab Kings Quest 1, 2, 3 for Mac, they’re all free to download.

I have MW2 and Portal on my baseline 2011 13″ MBP.. does not run as nice as my PC with a XFX HD6850… MBP equals lowest graphic settings, best I can get is 30FPS..

er what about sc2 and civ5 man?

Not exactly an “undeserved assumption”. It may be less true now than it has been, but Mac OS X as a gaming platform has a hundreth of the games there are for Windows, and they almost always perform less well. Add to this unupgradeable/expensive/rare graphics cards, and the fact that you need to buy a Mac Pro to be able to get an upgradeable GPU in the first place. I myself game on an iMac 24 which works fine, but I have to boot into Windows for all the games I play, unfortunately.

    • Trench says:

I call nonsense on “they almost always perform less well.” I’ve got a Dual Core MacBook Pro, and I play all my games on the highest possible settings with no lag.

  6. C says:

“Now if only it was as easily modded as on the PC”

As easy as booting into Bootcamp.

Try booting into Mac on a PC.

  7. Trench says:

    *KotOR
Best game. Now if only it was as easily modded as on the PC. And they had the second installment.

    • Cliff says:

KOTOR1 is better than KOTOR2 anyway, after that play Mass Effect

      • Trench says:

I personally prefer K2. Sure, it’s broken and unfinished. But there’s a rather wonderful Restored Content mod that fixes that. Plus, more potential for the modding community.

  8. Land Of Tech says:

COD 4 is only $28.94 on amazon for a download…
