if you buy the MBA in store then you'll still need to buy Lion for the Mac Mini from the App Store. Preinstalled OS's from Apple aren't multi-use, but the ones obtained from the App store are.

Hey Badfish2,
Could you please tell me if your son managed to get lion. The thing is I have the same problem since I bought my MBP on the 18th form bestbuy. and I couldn't manage myself and get a lion for free. So if yes, please try to inform me with the method to do so.
Regards,

Keep in Mind that if you buy a Mac from somewhere other than directly from Apple, you will probably have to upgrade yourself...even aver July 20th. My son bought a Mac today (August 1, 2011) from Best Buy and is right now trying to figure out how to get Lion. Seems to be a lot of hoops to jump through.

The US website allows you to input information regarding the free update to OS Lion, however, the Singapore Apple website does not even give you this option. Maybe the website is purposely not updated as of yet.

If you read the licence agreement it stipulates only available to the states, Canada and a couple of others????

Say I bought my MBP after June 6th and was so excited about Lion, I bought it first thing in the morning in the App Store without checking the up to date site first; Is there any way I could get my $30 back?

Currently shipping models include the aforementioned Up-To-Date program to access the Lion upgrade as a download, but I would expect that will change shortly as models will begin shipping with Lion pre-installed. The 2011 MacBook Air and Mac Mini ship with Lion preinstalled, for example.

Most likely not, you'd still need to buy Lion for that Mac Mini. Thankfully it's only $29!
