Ok, I’ve tried that, No change! The only thing I can think of is when I first plugged the external hard drive into My mac since I updated to lion it did show up, but just the once, I was making a recovery disk for lion, it hasn’t shown up since.

You guys are lucky – since installing the update, my wifi issues have gotten worse. And Apple’s forum indicates I’m not alone.

Just installed and my wi-fi is working again =D Kept having issues with either slow internet, or no connection at all. All seems to be good again with this update. Good times!

Yep … that did it, downloading the appropriate 10.7.x updates now; just under a Gig. incoming.

Full screen mail now has Send, Cancel, Done and formatting buttons on pop-up messages (new mail, replies etc)

Yes of course, I think what you are experiencing is a simple preference change that defaults Lion to hiding icon clutter on the desktop. What you need to do is:

Click on the Mac desktop/Finder
From the Finder menu pull down to "Preferences"
Under the 'General' tab select the checkboxes next to "External Disks" and "Hard Disks"

Your external drive should now be visible on the desktop as usual. Let us know if that solves it.

hey Matt, Managed to download the update, the only place i can see the external hard drive is in Disk Utility, but the repair option isn’t available, wouldn’t be a wizz kid when it comes to computers, so might i ask, is there anyway to manually correct this, as in have the external hard drive show up on the home screen/Finder the way it did with snow Leopard?

The method I’m presently using while in this ‘early implementor’ mode has to utilize Onyx 2.4.0b X (it’s beta) from Titanium.com over in France. With this upgrade to 10.7.1, my hidden folders still aren’t hidden. I’ve had them available to test and adjust certain application preference files that don’t quite work right out of the box. Of course, this is prior to roll out in the production environment, and the individual user accounts will have these items hidden once more.

Still a problem with system preferences; not being able to open the locked panes. One other issue when I updated to 10.7.1 the Folder “Library” was missing so had to go back to terminal (chflags nohidden ~/Library/) to make it re-appear. The Appstore and Safari are still terribly slow. Will be downgrading to SNL with CCC until it improves.

Not sure as that is not mentioned in the release notes, but if you update and find out it resolves the issue let us know!
