Mac Setups: Back Porch Music Studio with a MacBook Pro 15″ & iPad 2

MacBook Pro outdoor music studio

This reader submitted Mac setup comes from sound designer and musician Richard D, who may have one of the coolest seasonal offices I’ve seen. Ignoring the great view of the woods for a minute, the Apple gear is a MacBook Pro 15″ running Logic Studio alongside an iPad 2, in addition to a Magic Mouse and some other hardware.

When the weather accommodates, who wouldn’t want to work outside? Technically this is only halfway outdoors because it’s on a covered porch, but that makes it even more usable because it reduces potential screen glare. Not quite a boat or a motorcycle in the desert, but it’s probably a lot more functional than both of those.

Great Mac setup, thanks for sending this in Richard! You can send in your own setups to osxdailycom@gmail.com

Beautiful room for the view….but quite possibly the worst acoustics I’ve ever seen in a room that someone claims to be a studio, without even having to hear tones bounce around in the space.

Either this pic is staged just to produce a beautiful pic, or the owner of the home went deaf long prior to becoming a musician. As Scotty would say, “You cannot change the laws of physics!”

still….i would love to wake up to such a beautiful view :)

    @ Jeffu:

The speakers/monitors appears to be the smallest 2-way Genelec-monitor called Genelec 6010A.

What app is the ipad running? Is it a control surface that can act like a keyboard as well? If yes I need to know what it is. I hope someone can answer my question.Thank you.

Everyone should be able to afford to live in a house like that and have a Mac setup like that. This is not the case but it is the way it should be. Too bad the world is the way it is.

The house is beautiful, the Mac setup is beautiful. This is how it should be for everyone if they chose.
