I recently updated my 3Gs iPhone with the newest iOS 5.0.1
I have always noticed I had a long battery life. Most of the day it would be on standby and if I didn't use the phone the battery life would still be at 95%. The day after the I updated the OS by mind morning it went down to 35% and I hadn't even used my phone yet. In fact the only time it drain that know is when I have used it heavily all day (texting with photos, checking email, etc.) What is Apple doing about this?

As is mine. It was perfectly fine with iOS 5. In the last 20min it went from 9% to 4%...and I wasn't doing anything. I even charged it mid-day in the car, have barely used it all day, and it won't even last. Any way to go back to 5.0.0?

Installed the update when it came out, on an iPhone 4, and the battery usage was obviously worst. Apple has released a dud here.

However late last night I was checking configuration an found that Bluetooth was turned on. This was a big surprise as I always have it turned off. So turned off Bluetooth which at the moment appears to significantly improve battery lifetIme.

The obvious suggestion here is check your configuration closely.
