Not happy with snow leopard update when loaded on my Macpro I couldn't access my Microsoft products and it told me I had to update to new micro soft products software. Hope the lion doesn't do the same ,also snow leopard slowed my Mac. In frustration went back to my original software.

Have you ever owned another operating system? Microsoft charges HUNDREDS for their operating systems. I'm glad $30 will break the bank. Write your own operating system.

You were still running OS software while you were running Microsoft software, the virus could have come in from there. Mac's are immune to PC viruses, but that doesn't mean people aren't developing OS viruses. I'd take Apple over Microsoft any day! Plus Microsoft updates haven't really been "all that" either; need I remind everyone of Windows Vista? In my opinion Mac's work much better than PC's, and I can deal with out the "Save As" button, common guys.

Hey all. New here so go easy.

So Apple are sending out all the reminders to switch to iCloud, or lose all .mac emails. 30 days left to do so.... ML supposed to come out Summer 2012...

Do I wait it out for ML or do I upgrade to Lion in the meantime? Still keeping a separate drive for SL!
Thanks

Hey dudes... I started my Apple experience few back in 2008, I brought the white MacBook with Leo installed.

Later SnowLeo was released and I brought it - it was simply the best OS I have tried. Later I brought the an iMac, MacBook Pro and latest a Mac Pro. Meanwhile Lion was released, but shame shame shame... I didn't like the Lion... it was full of failures, and it seems that Apple didn't want to fix it in their updates even today....

So I will like to say, that SnowLeo is one of the best OS Apple ever will be and has been made. This is solid facts!!!

I'm pretty sure there'll be a way around it. I remember when Lion was first released you couldn't install it on a Duo Core but that's possible by just removing a file from within the disk image so I assume that the same work around will apply.

You guys are missing the point. Apple's clear strategy is to incrementally move away from the desktop altogether. Their iPhone/iPad product line is much more profitable and allows them to completely control the user experience (not to mention collect revenue directly from the user at every turn). Every iteration of OS X is going to look and work less and less like a desktop machine (e.g., local storage, user-controlled configuration and management of data) and more and more like an iPad (e.g,. cloud storage). Speaking as an old Unix geek from way on back I hate it, but it's the way they are moving.
