Hope the lion doesn't do the same ,also snow leopard slowed my Mac. In frustration went back to my original software. Mac's are immune to PC viruses, but that doesn't mean people aren't developing OS viruses. I'd take Apple over Microsoft any day! Plus Microsoft updates haven't really been "all that" either; need I remind everyone of Windows Vista? In my opinion Mac's work much better than PC's, and I can deal with out the "Save As" button, common guys. I remember when Lion was first released you couldn't install it on a Duo Core but that's possible by just removing a file from within the disk image so I assume that the same work around will apply. Apple's clear strategy is to incrementally move away from the desktop altogether. Their iPhone/iPad product line is much more profitable and allows them to completely control the user experience (not to mention collect revenue directly from the user at every turn). Every iteration of OS X is going to look and work less and less like a desktop machine (e.g., local storage, user-controlled configuration and management of data) and more and more like an iPad (e.g,. cloud storage). Speaking as an old Unix geek from way on back I hate it, but it's the way they are moving. You guys are missing the point.
