Actually after 10.7.4 update, almost *all* of my preferences, System and per Application, got reset. I can’t prove that it’s caused by the 10.7.4 update, but man the timing is suspect. Hope it’s not a contemporaneous virus / malware infection. Anyone else observe similar behavior after a 10.7.4 update?

MBA11 late 2011, fwiw. Screensaver got reset, Trackpad settings, Finder icon sizes, Sparrow (snif) settings, etc. all reset. Others I’m just discovering as I go. Notably, locked firewall settings were preserved. TIA

Sounds like a problem with Windows file systems, not OS X

Still got problem copying files to external disk which I would have thought was one of the simpler things a system should be able to do. I/O is pretty fundamental after all! Error message “The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “DSC_1380.NEF” can’t be read or written.
(Error code -36)”.
This is RUBBISH!

After the update I transferred Lion back to the main hard drive but still encountered two problems Time machine is stuck in the “Preparing to back-up” and system preferences pane “start up disk” keeps crashing with my CAC card. System preferences was fine for one day but back to the same old problems. Fortunately, I used CC cloner and I am presently re-cloning SNL back to the main hard drive. Again, for almost a year, Lion is banished to the outhouse(external hard drive).

this is the result of tools like istat or smcfancontrol. Had the same entries and since i got rid of the istat widget in my dashboard they disappeared.

After update ALL my screensavers have disappeared in System Preferences, also when I try to open “Groups & Users” I get this message “Could not load Users & Groups preference pane” I have searched for answers everywhere, with now helpful answers. If someone can help here, pls let know.

The update has forced my login background to the original that comes with it, but when I look at the NSTexturedFullScreenBackgroundColor.png file it is the same image that I chose it to be. Gotta figure out where the new image is being sourced from…

Still Slow, Still Takes 5 Mins to Load startup even when system has rstore windows turned off.

GRRR I hate this feature, will not be gettion mountain lion anytime soon!
