A larger screen size doesn't necessarily mean a larger phone, look at the iPhone and you'll see plenty of empty space around the edges and top and bottom that could be filled in with a bigger screen.

There's never been an iPhone with a 3" screen - even the first model had a 3.5" screen - so this would mean a 1/2" increase, which would make a difference but not that much: from 3" to 4" is a 33% increase, 3.5" to 4" is 14%. I think you're going to be disappointed.

Hell no!
3.5 is a great size. Fits the pocket and doesnt need giant hands to operate. I strongly disagree with this decision and I just hope its a bad rumor... Apple dont need to follow dumb competitors, screen size doesnt equal better phone!

Welcome to 2010 Apple, nice to see iPhone join the party.

Really though, this is my only complaint with the iPhone. Squinting to read text on a 3" screen is quite absurd, an inch makes a world of difference in usability.
