It’s bloat, and it hastens the obsolescence of hardware that would otherwise be quite capable of running it if it were specifically left as an *operating system* (as opposed to a bunch of senseless tripe).

My macbook pro 13 inch will not restart properly. I get the constantly spinning on the screen. In order to restart I have to hold power down until the screen turns off and then press it again to start.

This was happening before the lion upgrade but I hoped the upgrade would fix it but did not. Can anyone here offer any suggestions????

It’s just absurd. If Apple really wants to enter the commodity market with their computers, they should just sell PCs. OEM everything, and look how much you save. Your stock holders will love you for it. Well, the first 24 hours.

I’m not impressed with the filigree until they fix what’s structural, in this case Finder:

1. The empty-folder problem that is new with Mountain Lion.

2. Icon preview in dialog boxes, even if the folder doesn’t have icon preview turned on. This is a new problem.

3. Desktop items with the wrong icon, or no icon at all. This is along-standing problem.

Aha! I found it. In “mail, contacts, etc.”
It has integration through safari and the notification center only so far as I can see.

I don’t know, but I have been digging around in .2 for an hour now and I have not seen Facebook integration yet. I think you would be able to turn it off though. I’m still looking for it!

So I agree with other professional users here: the last thing I want is tweet this share that facebook this and that in my operating system. I’m trying to work, not share what app I’m using with friends.

The social thing is burnt out and overdone, just not into it and really don’t care for it to be in OS X.
