More pictures claiming to be the next iPhone have surfaced. The “iPhone 5”, as it’s labeled, is shown alongside an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 3GS, providing for the best comparison yet on overall device size.

The iPhone 5 is clearly taller than the iPhone 4, as shown in these images:

iPhone 5 is also significantly thinner than iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, which the following images demonstrate quite well:

The pictures mostly correspond with past image leaks, but it’s always possible these aren’t real at all and are just elaborate mockups.

The official new iPhone announcement is expected from Apple on September 12, and the next iPhone is expected to be released for purchase on September 21.

You can see the rest of the pictures on the French site Nowherelse.fr

Update:

The new iPhone’s taller display will accomodate widescreen content quite well, as a recent mockup video by MacRumors demonstrates:

I like the idea of a bigger viewing area, but not a bigger chassis. I will probably stay with my 4S!

    COMPLETE CRAP.

Why make it longer ? Just removing the Home button may have solved the problem. Function of the Home button may be replaced by multitouch gestures.

ok its obvious this is fake like ive been thinking all along, the company who produced this fake iPhone 5 is very good. the iPhone 4 is gold and blue so their skills are good.

i seriously cant see Apple designing the “new” iPhone in this fashion. it makes no sense to me

All this intellectualizing has to stop!
    Could be a patent infringement.
Just stand in line like the rest of us and shell out your $$$$! You know you love it!

The little dark dot (next to the camera lense), this is a laser we’ve just integrated, and the new device will be called: The NEW iPhone 5 Version 6 Design 4

    BORING….

Why do they keep putting an antenna down there?

    • MizuInOz says:

so you won’t get fried by all of the radio waves. Most people feel uncomfortable wearing tin foil hats in public. ;)

It is about having the incoming signal as far away from the head as possible. Really.

      Cheers

    • James says:

There are four antennas on the 4s and likely the same on the 5.

I sure hope that isn’t glass on the back again. The glass backs are the worst feature of the iPhones, then Apple charges over $100 to fix it when it breaks and who doesn’t drop their phone?

  10. J5Cream says:

But still it remains… In what way is this new iPhone the ‘5’. Surely, surely Apple will not call what is the sixth version of the phone a 5, it is essentially only the 4th ‘generation, in terms of design as well.

Rear camera looks smaller — or is it just me?
