Not a universal app either, iPhone/iPod Touch only. Guess we're supposed to continue using Safari and YouTube.com on iPad.

You could still get ads in the built in Youtube app, I got one earlier today. Granted it was the first one I had so thats why I remember it but they are there. But I do like the new one better so its a small price to pay!

I like the new YouTube app a lot more. Also, YouTube links already open from Safari into the YouTube app after you install it, this feels like Apple has been planning this a long time.

The official YouTube app from Google will always be available. The currently installed YouTube app from Apple will be removed. All that means is if you don't download the Google version when you update to iOS 6 you won't have a YouTube app.
