Unlocked iPhone 5 Prices: 16GB for $649, 32GB for $749, 64GB for $849

unlocked iPhone 5

Want a contract-free iPhone 5? Buying an unlocked iPhone 5 doesn’t come cheap, but the good news is the price hasn’t gone up and the cost has remained the same as the prior unlocked iPhone 4S model.

Unlocked iPhone 5 Prices

  • iPhone 5 16GB – $649
  • iPhone 5 32GB – $749
  • iPhone 5 64GB – $849

These prices come from directly from Apple’s Online Store. Both black and white colors are the same price, as are the out-of-contract prices on any carrier network.

Obviously with the hefty prices, it’s much more economical to pay the in-contract prices which start at just $199. Whether you’re going contract-free or signing an agreement, we still recommend buying the iPhone 5 16GB for most users,.

One important thing to remember is iPhone 5 uses an all new nano-SIM card, so it won’t be a matter of just cutting an existing sim and popping it in there to work on a different network. Because of the new nano-SIM requirement you’ll need to find a carrier that offers compatible sim cards.

For those who own the older iPhone 4, 4S, 3GS, and 3G models, it will be much more economical to unlock existing iPhones through AT&T by phone or through the web.

There are two different GSM iPhone 5s and so you would need to make sure that you got the one for mostly Europe if that was were you intended to use it as opposed to the one for the US & Canada. The question is will Apple be selling both of them everywhere or just the North Am model in North Am?

You don’t know that trimming a larger SIM card to fit the Nano holder won’t work. The metalic part is identical to the larger SIM cards. I bet a trimmed SIM WILL WORK. I’m betting a thousand dollars it will.

    • Tim Schallberger says:

Somewhere earlier today I already saw trays to allow you to use a Nano SIM in a Micro slot and a Full sized slot so I think you are right…

    • Hans says:

Yeah, it seems like the only problem is that the nano sim card is thinner…..but doesn’t seem like a very fine sheet of sandpaper couldn’t fix.

Trimming a SIM card works on a Galaxy S3. The shop guys just cut it up and in it went.
Should be similar for the iphone.

  6. Chris says:

Here is a good image of them, trimming could work, very dangerous as you would be cutting into the contacts though. http://www.idownloadblog.com/2012/07/19/carriers-testing-nano-sim/

Are there any hyperlinks for video clips clip for this particular opening procedure. Let us know if there is one. And if anyone was effective please create videos clip and publish, believe me you shall be popular. And not be like the other chips in the dev group who declare to be operating on it for previous periods 6 – 8 several weeks and have not been effective. They have managed to discover the 4s with a more recent BBv with a gevey sim but incapable to do it for the something very junk.
