Seems the Kimmel show recently got a Samsung sponsorship. You'll note all the Samsung commercials now airing at breaks in the show. Nothing new, just the opposite of product placement - competitor product defamation. I guess their sponsor Samsung wouldn't appreciate it if Kimmel did a skit showing the Samsung tablet designers huddled in a room for six months (the time to design their tablet) while the lead designer didn't have time to breast feed her baby. It took them that long to reverse engineer and copy down the the icons and fonts the iPad which was took 6 years of long research to produce. Continual changes aren't an issue unless you suffer from one-upmanship. I'm quite content running older stuff.
