Wait, I thought the plan now was for Apple to release a new OS every year. Why bother beta testing updates when the new thing is around the corner?

That was rather insulting.

ML isn't bad, but it could be better.

Strange enough I've always had problems with Wi-Fi in Snow Leopard. For me using Snow Leopard was two years of frustration, because it dropped the connection sometimes several times a day. When Lion was released a lot of people started having the same problem and blamed Lion. Because I've read Wi-Fi in Lion was even worse, I first didn't want to upgrade. In December I thought: "How much worse can it get? Snow Leopard also drops the connection several times a day. So, let's just try how many times Lion drops the connection." Well, never. For me Lion actually fixed all of my problems. Since I installed Lion, my connection hasn't dropped a single time.

So, it's not like the problem didn't excist before Lion was released and Lion introduced these Wi-Fi problems. Snow Leopard and even Leopard and Tiger had these same issues. It's not like only Lion and Mountain Lion have these problems. Some people had these problems in Tiger, other people had the problems in Leopard, other people in Snow Leopard, others in Lion or Mountain Lion.

Does this mean I'm defending Apple? No, it surely is a big problem and it's ridiculous it's so difficult for Apple keep a Wi-Fi connection alive. Why doesn't Windows have these problems? It's a fact Apple still hasn't figured out how to keep an Wi-Fi connection active. After all those years, because the problems already excisted in Tiger.

I wouldn't count on it, because the wi-fi problems are dependent on the routers. I have them at home but not at work, at home I got around it by setting manual DHCP and haven't had a problem since.
