There is eaven a simpler Way which also works on iPad just make a Screenshot (press home and power button together) while recording Video.

I have had a Sony camcorder for almost two years that can take full resolution (up to 12mp) pictures while taking video. It even has a “face recognition” mode where, if the faces in the image change, it will automatically take a full resolution still. The video is not stopped at all.

I find this incredibly useful.

Nice if Apple can catch up to this (unless it violates some patent).

This feature is exclusive to only the iPhone 5.

This only works on the iPhone 5. My 4S has iOS 6.0.1 and doesn’t have this function.

iPhone 4s – there is no such button while in Video Recording Mode !!!

It is not working with iPad4 and iPhone4s, there is no such button while in Video Recording Mode.

So, the picture taking feature while recording is not possible.

Maybe you have some additonal Apps to do such effect., in native apps of IOS.

No such button on iphone 4 6.0.1, must be either for newer or 4″ devices
