"There is some discussion"

About what? Where? What does this even mean?

"likely due sooner than later"

Now that's just stellar writing.

I have to disagree. I would not come back to iOS 3 now that I have iOS 6. Not even iOS 5! If you talking about the "Maps" so called downgrade, I would call that a huge step forward for Apple: to get rid of Google. Most importantly, they had to get rid of them because Google themselves forbade Apple to use their step by step direction API. I, personally never had any issue with the Apple Maps. It even is *more* accurate in certain region of the world than Google's.

Every new release of iOS (same goes for Mac OS) cannot be mind-blowing! Though I think we will miss Steve Jobs in the coming days. He was visionary, knew how to keep secrets and didn't give a fuck about what shareholders thought was good for the company. I'm not so sure Tim Cook have the same philosophy.

iOS 4 was boring, iOS 5 was boring, iOS 6 was a step backwards

I have very low hopes these days for new iOS releases. iOS 7 will be a letdown.

Beta 5 does not check for developer access, technically anyone can install this but there is no reason to because it's such a boring update.
