iOS 8 Beta 5

Apple has released iOS 8 beta 5 for compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. The latest build focuses primarily on bug fixes and improvements to iOS 8, and marches the beta release ever closer to the final public version, which is expected sometime this fall.

As is typical with iOS betas, the fastest way to get iOS 8 beta 5 onto your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, is to use the Over-The-Air download mechanism directly from the Settings app on a prior beta version of iOS 8. The OTA download is about 270MB in size for most iOS devices, and requires at least 1.5GB of free space to be able to install onto the device.

Those who are registered members of the iOS Developer Program can also find the iOS 8 beta 5 IPSW files available to download from the Apple Dev Center. Performing a clean install is possible using the firmware, as is downgrading back to iOS 7 stable builds.

Additionally, a new beta build of iOS for Apple TV is available, versioned only as “Apple TV Software beta 4” for the third generation Apple TV hardware. That can also be found on the Developer Center from Apple.

Mac developers will also find a new version of OS X Yosemite has been made available, versioned as OS X 10.10 Developer Preview 5. The Public Beta release of OS X Yosemite has not been updated.

Are you a registered developer? If not maybe it recognized that your device’s UDID wasn’t registered and locked it down :\
