Apple is running a set of new iPhone 6 ads, titled “Reservations” and “Gamers”. The two spots are similar to earlier commercials for iPhone 6, being narrated by Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake, as specific features are emphasized in a playful banter.

Both of the new commercials are airing on network television now, and are embedded below for easy viewing.

The first commercial is titled Gamers and focuses on the iPhones new hardware gaming abilities, showing off the League Of Legends-ish game called Vainglory being played side by side on an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

VainGlory is a free to download game on the iOS App Store for iPhone and iPad.

The second ad, titled Reservations, emphasizes the Continuity phone calling feature, which allows an iPhone to make phone calls from a nearby iPad or Mac that are using the same iCloud ID with modern iOS and OS X versions respectively.

It’s worth noting that Continuity and Handoff require iOS 8 or newer on a compatible iPhone, and OS X 10.10 or newer on a Mac, to function as shown in the commercial.

I think the Reservations commercial is highly effective. Rather than show the versatility of their products, Apple has chosen to perpetuate negative stereotypes of people from France. Everything from Fallon’s fake accent to the implication that all French people are rude is offensive. Apple would never release a commercial in America perpetuating negative stereotypes of people from Mexico for example, so why is it ok to stereotype French people?

I’d love to enjoy my still undelivered iPhone 6 Plus in this manner. 5-weeks later… still nothing.

    You’re failing me, Apple.

I laugh every-time the Surface Pro vs Mac Book Air commercial comes on. The show the surface with the keyboard and try to pass them off as if they cost the same. All you have to do walk into Best Buy and look at the price and you’ll see the over $200 difference.

I like the Microsoft commercials comparing a Surface Pro 3 to the Mac Book.

Lots of English productions need to come with subtitles so one can catch what they’re saying, “Gamers” needs to come with a translator for those of us who don’t understand even when we recognize the words.

Not a big fan of these Jimmy Fallon commercials, I don’t find them particularly good. They are very ‘blah’ overall. Where are the traditional Apple Holiday commercials that are so famous? Is this it? I hope not. I want the Santa commercials.
