iOS 8.3 Beta 2

Apple has released the second beta for iOS 8.3. The new build is 12F5037c and is available now for compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. Separately, a new Apple TV beta version is also available.

Those registered with the iOS Developer program can find the new iOS 8.3 beta 2 firmware available to download at the dev center. Additionally, a new accompanying Xcode beta is available.

iOS 8.3 is likely to focus on bug fixes and feature improvements, though apparently some new small features are to be added as well. More specifics can be read at 9to5mac, who has suggested that iOS 8.3 could eventually turn into a public beta before being released to the general public, perhaps similar to the OS X Public Beta program. If iOS 8.3 is indeed opened to public beta, this could suggest that a wider public final release may be further away than typical for iOS beta versions. As usual with Apple beta software, there is no known timeline for a final release of the point release. The most recently available public version of iOS remains 8.1.3.

Separately, a second beta version of OS X 10.10.3 is available for Mac users participating in the developer and public beta programs.

I really am glad Apple is concentrating on the Emoji. Being of Asian, African American, Russian, Chinese, European, Hispanic, Polish, Native American and a little Italian descent thrown in for good measure, I was not happy with my limited choices. The bugs, WiFi issues and other stuff can wait as I feel it is much more important for Apple to work on politically correct Emoji. I hope one looks like me, with my Hitler style mustache and a bald head.
