How were you able to get the 5K iMac to support two external monitors?

    • Craig says:

The 5k iMac has 2 displayport ports, so you don’t need to daisy chain or use any adapters. Plug it in and it works.

  2. Mark says:

I don’t see this on #MacSetup, and I do want to really know:

what furniture, desk and chair does that happen to be?

    Thanks! :-D

Initech mug! Now Craig, where are my TPS reports? It’s Sunday and I see that you haven’t returned my voicemails nor do I see you in the office yet :P

Where can I get that Steve Job´s wallpaper PLEASE?

  5. Wharf Xanadu says:

I like the wallpaper and three displays. Looks cool.

  6. Techsticles says:

How’s the difference from 5k down to the regular monitors?

I tried a triple display with two 4k monitors but the iMac could only support one 4k monitor.

    • Craig Hooghiem says:

Hardly any difference at all. I keep the retina iMac set to one not smaller than default and they match nicely.

  7. Jauqua says:

Is there any lag driving two 30″ screens from the iMac Retina display? Is the video card strong enough for that? Looks like a productivity dream if so

    • Craig Hooghiem says:

No lag at all. The only issues I ever have are actually tied to the monitors not detecting the wake signal on displayport. Cycle the power and no more issues for 24 hours.
