iOS 9 devices

Apple has released iOS 9.3.3 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The small point release update arrives as build 13G34 and includes bug fixes and security updates to the mobile operating system.

Updating to iOS 9.3.3

The easiest way to get iOS 9.3.3 is through the Over the Air update mechanism built into iOS.

Users can download iOS 9.3.3 on any device right now through the Software Update function on their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, achieved through the Settings app by going to “General” and then to “Software Update”.

Optionally, individuals can connect an iPhone or iPad to a computer via USB and update through the iTunes app update feature, o by using IPSW with a firmware file matching their device.

Always back up an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch before updating system software.

Definitely DO NOT upgrade ANY Apple devices without SERIOUS consideration. I just casually updated 9.3.3 and it caused me irreversable problems (estimate of damage in excess of $5,000). It was totally my mistake. I definitely should NOT have upgraded. I just wasn’t thinking and I think it is irresponsible of Apple to encourage upgrades that THEY DEFINITELY KNOW are going to cause problems with basically NO WARNING! I would spend at least 1 hour READING REVIEWS – BEFORE you decide to upgrade ANY Apple product. It’s not like the old days!

The two big lessons I have learned with iOS and Mac OS updates:

1 – Never update iOS without backing up first.

      2 – If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Deviating from those two rules is asking for trouble. I had to spend 5 hours troubleshooting and restoring an iPhone recently (64GB iPhone takes multiple hours to restore via USB, or about 3 days over iCloud), it is such a hassle that no feature on earth could justify the lost time and frustration.

Upgrade total rubbish touch ID now not working even after a hard rest and very little response from Apple over a solution. Don’t upgrade!!!

every time I try and go onto iTunes and click the file for IOS 9 it just says that it’s a zipped folder and won’t let me access it. So in other words it won’t let me downgrade, help?
