Apple has released the fifth beta versions of iOS 10.1 and macOS Sierra 10.12.1.

The new versions continue to refine the system software and patch various bugs, marching the releases along to their inevitable public release date.

Users who are actively participating in the beta testing programs can find iOS 10.1 beta 5 available now from the Settings app, Software Update section.

It’s assumed that macOS Sierra 10.12.1 will be made final by the time new Mac models are available in the coming weeks, though this is largely speculation based on rumors and Apple sending out press invitations to an event next week, where redesigned MacBook Pro hardware is expected to be unveiled.

Sierra 10.12.1 is mostly a bug fix release, whereas iOS 10.1 includes bug fixes in addition to the inclusion of new features like Portrait camera mode for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users.
