  1. Overall, I liked the announcements. I was hoping to see a MacBook Pro that could give us 32GB of RAM, but I guess we have to wait longer for that. Oh well. I won’t be buying a new MacBook Pro for another year or so anyway. I’m happy that Apple is giving us a version of Safari that will stop auto-playing videos. I HATE auto-playing videos! The only place where they’re appropriate is on YouTube.

I also would have liked to see 32 GB or 64 GB RAM options for MacBook Pro. I also want a different keyboard on MacBook Pro.

    Release date set for fall?
There is a word or two missing, that does not make sense.
    … to fall over?down?
    … for a fall?
    … for next fall?

    • Joe Morgan says:

Tony, yes macOS 10.13 is to be released in the fall. “Fall” is a colloquial term in the English speaking world that refers to the Autumn season, which for Apple being located in the USA is the season at the end of the year before winter. I am guessing macOS 10.13 will arrive in late October, but it could be any time between the end of summer and the start of winter.

  3. James Rhodes says:

I figured out how to make a USB flash drive installer. :)

    sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ 10.13\ beta.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia –volume /Volumes/Untitled –applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ 10.13\ beta.app

  4. Ted says:

“High Sierra” sounds like a joke, I get what they’re going for (Snow Leopard after Leopard, Mountain Lion after Lion…. etc) but it still sounds…. like a joke.

OF course if you’re from California than you know the High Sierra is a term for the upper bounds of the Sierra mountain range, and the lack of big features suggests HS 10.13 is a performance update (so we hope anyway), but still the name sounds like a joke. Kind of funny! Lots of humor with this one, I am sure, which is why they were joking about it on stage too.

Anyway, I hope Mac OS 10.13 is good. I will echo the other comment that I am disappointed in MacBook Pro still and will continue to hold off there, I just want a good keyboard with full keys and 64GB RAM options on my Pro laptop.

    • Fred says:

A complete replacement of the HFS+ file system with Apple File System is *huge* and worth far more than new emojis and video effects in iMessages.

      • Fnordmeister says:

I don’t work in the computer industry, but a change in the file system suggests that maybe this should be called OS11.

  5. Gomblebloops says:

I hope this is a lot more stable and faster. I didn’t see anything that was interesting and there are no new features that warrant a major software update. MacOS and iOS are both large behemoths at this point so without new features maybe they can focus on stability and performance.

I’m disappointed we still can’t get a 32GB RAM update for MacBook Pro or a regular keyboard and no TouchToy yet.

    • Denicio says:

Again, battery concerns man. Phil Schiller stated. 32GB would lead to less hours of battery life, the touch bar MacBook pros already messed up the time remaining in macOS.

  6. The Old Coot says:

They have until fall to change the number. WTF “13”

  7. Gorbnar says:

Is this the “baked” edition for all the legalized stoners out there? What a dumb name.
