iOS 11 public beta and macOS High Sierra public beta

Apple has released iOS 11 beta 9, macOS High Sierra beta 9, and tvOS 11 beta 9 for users in the developer beta testing programs. Additionally, iOS 11 public beta 8 is available, which is the same release as the dev build.

The developer preview of iOS 11 beta 9 and public beta 8 of iOS 11 are both available to download now for any device that is currently enrolled in the developer beta testing program. Open the Settings app and check Software Update to find the update to download.

iOS 11 public beta 8 and beta 9 are available to download

macOS High Sierra beta 9 can be found via the Mac App Store Updates section.

There are no obvious new features or major changes in the ninth beta of iOS 11 or macOS High Sierra, suggesting the release is focusing on smaller bug fixes and improvements as the software finalizes before the wider public release.

Apple is hosting an event on September 12 to launch new iPhones (presumably for that purpose, anyway), and we’ll likely get an official launch date of iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra 10.13 on that date as well.

If you’re impatient and feel like running iOS 11 or macOS High Sierra now, anyone can do so via the Public Beta testing program. iOS 11 is perhaps most noteworthy on the iPad, but is still interesting on the iPhone too.

How come you never mention that 10.13 Beta is incompatible with all fusion drives? I experienced constant crashing when my mbp was put to sleep. I went back to 10.12.6 and guess there will be a long wait for us thousands of fusion drive owners. I am using a tardisk 256 GB Drive.

My personal advice is to avoid 10.13 entirely until perhaps macOS 10.13.3, for the reason you mention and others. I have learned to skip all early software versions from Apple until the bug fix releases are out for a while.
