Holiday Gift Guide 2018

Looking for some great gift ideas for this holiday season? We’ve got a collection of tech gadgets and accessories that are sure to be of interest to the geekier folks on your shopping list, perhaps yourself included.

Browse through the list below and see if something catches your fancy. Sure you could always splurge on a snazzy MacBook Pro or anything else at the Apple store at Amazon too…

iPad (6th generation) – $300

The latest iPad (6th generation, 2018 model) makes for an excellent gift for nearly anyone, yourself included; it’s fast, sails with iOS 12, packs Apple Pencil support on the 9.7″ retina screen, and it has a headphone jack (unlike the new iPad Pro). It’s perfect for emailing, web browsing, reading ebooks, gaming, using as a couch browser, and so much more.

The iPad retails for $329, but Amazon has been frequently marking down the price of the new iPad to around $300 and sometimes to as low as $280, so if you’ve been thinking of gifting someone an iPad, then you might as well buy one at a discount courtesy of Amazon.

Pair it with a Brydge keyboard and a compatible Apple Pencil and you’ve got quite an iPad setup!

Apple Watch Series 4

The Apple Watch has always been a cool gift for techies, the health conscious, and fitness buffs alike, but Series 4 broadens the appeal dramatically by including new health features like an ECG, fall detection, and irregular heart beat detection.

Brydge keyboard for iPad

If someone you’re shopping for already has an iPad, then the Brydge keyboard can be a great addition to their tablet. Brydge for iPad is one of the most popular third party keyboards for iPad users, and one look at it and you can probably see why; it’s well designed, aluminum, has a backlit keyboard, and when an iPad is fit into the cradle it basically looks like a little tiny laptop running iOS.

Super Nintendo (SNES) Classic – $80

Nintendo released the SNES Classic console to huge fanfare, which hosts a variety of classic retro Super Nintendo games like Super Mario World, Super Metroid, F-Zero, Final Fantasy 3, Secret of Mana, The Legend of Zelda – Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart, Earthbound, and more. It’s sure to keep any video game enthusiast thoroughly entertained for a long time.

Nintendo (NES) Classic – $60

Nintendo also released the NES Classic console, based on the original Nintendo game console, which was virtually impossible to find for well over a year, but apparently they did another production run and now it can be tracked down again. The Nintendo Classic is even more retro than the SNES Classic, with original Super Mario Brothers, Mario 2, Mario 3, Zelda, Zelda II, Final Fantasy, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Mega-Man, and more.

Samsung Portable 500GB SSD – $100

The Samsung T5 portable SSD offers ultra-fast external storage for any Mac, far exceeding the performance of traditional spinning external hard drives.

iPad Stand & External Keyboard

You can turn any iPad into a little miniature desktop computer experience with a fancy iPad stand and a nice external wireless keyboard. Two popular choices are the Viozon iPad stand, which can adjust to hold just about any size iPad, and the Apple Magic Keyboard 2, which is wireless and rechargeable (it can sync via Bluetooth to any iPad, Mac, or iPhone even).

Furbo Dog Camera – $200

A wi-fi camera for dogs that dispenses treats, plus offers two-way audio so you can communicate, and bark detection that sends you a notification to your phone so that you can check in on the camera and see what’s going on with your pooch? That’s the Furbo. For the tech savvy pet owners out there, the Furbo Dog Camera looks like a jolly good time. Who doesn’t want to spy on their dog (or cat, hamster, rabbit…), talk to them, and give them treats, all while they’re away from home?

If the above ideas didn’t do it for your gift shopping, then you can always browse all other Apple products at Amazon.com, or shop for anything else on Amazon too. You’re sure to find something for everyone on your list! Feel free to share your own gift ideas below in the comments as well!
