View the List of Songs Which Siri Identified in iOS

The music app icon for iOS Now that Siri can identify songs that are playing, similar to the Shazam app service, you’ll probably appreciate knowing that you can easily go back and see a list of songs that Siri has found and detected. This is great since it basically keeps a running tab of what music you asked your iPhone to identify, making it easy to view that list of songs so that you can either listen to them again or buy them through the iTunes music store.

Assuming you’re on a modern version of iOS with Siri, then finding the Siri detected music list is done as follows:

  1. Open the “iTunes” app on the iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap on the three line list button in the upper right corner of iTunes app
  3. Tap on the “Siri” tab to see the songs that Siri has detected and identified

Find songs that Siri detected in iOS

You can then tap on a song to play a preview of it, assuming a preview is offered by iTunes (they are not always), or tap the dollar amount shown to make a purchase of the song(s) as desired.

For those wondering, the next tab over will actually show the iTunes Radio history the same way that you can find that list in the Radio tab of Music app.

For those who are not familiar with the feature, you can summon Siri and ask the assistant something like “What song is playing?” and Siri will use the microphone to pick up ambient music, identifying it whenever possible. The service is quite good and consistently reliable, able to find even obscure tracks and music from short clips of TV, radio, something playing at a restaurant or bar, or even something playing from the iPhone or iPad itself. Try it out, it’s a neat feature.

Just to point out if there is no iTunes in your country (no sale of music and video content) there will be no iTunes Store content just an iTunes U icon, so there is no way to see music Siri identified.

In Step 1, you mean, open the iTunes Store app, not the iTunes app itself.
