new iPhone commercials: if it's not an iPhone, it's not an iPhone

Apple has started to run two three new commercials for iPhone, one titled “Hardware & Software”, “Amazing Apps”, and the other titled “Loved”.

The first advertisement, Hardware & Software, touts the seamless experience offered by the device due to Apple designing both the hardware and software, ending with a quip “If it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone”. The video and tagline is embedded below for easy viewing:

“Hardware & Software”

“The iPhone’s hardware and software are designed together. Because when we design the whole phone, the whole experience is better.”

“Loved”, second advertisement emphasizes that 99% of iPhone owners love the device and focuses on how happy iPhone users are with their phones. The commercial also ends with the slogan “If it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone”.

“Loved”

99% of people who have an iPhone… Love their iPhone.

“Amazing Apps”

“With over a million and a half of the best apps available, the App Store turns your iPhone into just about anything. “

These two commercials are notably different from the other concurrently running “Shot on iPhone” ads, which focus on the devices camera abilities.

And if the “It’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone” slogan sounds familiar to you, it’s because Apple ran a similar themed commercial some years back with the iPhone 4 and the same voice actor, then using the slogan “If you don’t have an iPhone, well, you don’t have an iPhone”.

You shouldn’t get any arguments from that sentence. For Apple’s next campaign, how about:

“If it’s an iPhone, it’s an iPhone.”
