Two Apple Earth Day Ads Highlight Renewable Energy & Liam the Robot

Apple has released two new commercials for Earth Day. The first advertisement emphasizes the companies renewable energy efforts to power servers, and the other second ad focuses on recycling iPhones with the help of a robot.

The commercials are embedded below for easy viewing.

iMessage – Renewable Energy

The iMessage commercial focuses on the fact that the servers running iMessage are powered by renewable energy sources. The song playing during the Earth iMessage ad is called “Ophelia” by The Lumineers.

“Every time you send an iMessage, you’re showing some love for the Earth.”

Siri and Liam – Earth Day

The Siri and Liam commercial highlights a robot, named Liam, that recycles iPhones. The Liam robot is recycling the iPhone which Siri is running on, as Siri tries to bribe Liam to spare the device.

“Siri and Liam have differing views on how to best celebrate Earth Day.”

And yes, apparently Liam the Recycling Robot is real. Apple introduced the Liam robot at their March 2016 event with a short video that describes the machines purpose, embedded below for those curious:
