Troubleshooting iOS 10.2 Update

If iOS 10.2 is not showing up for you in Software Update, you may need to delete any existing old iOS software updates first that may be stored on the device. After that, reboot the iPhone or iPad. You can learn how to restart an iPhone or iPad, or reboot an iPhone 7 here, which is a slightly different process. Upon rebooting the iOS 10.2 update should appear as expected.

If you’re looking to find the new Emoji icons in iOS 10.2 simply load the Emoji keyboard as usual and browse around, they are intermixed with existing emojis in iOS.

How do I send feedback about a glitch with this 🙇🏻‍♀️ emoji? I added it in my calendar and when I hit ‘Done’ and it closed it changed to 🙇🏻 with a male [or female symbol] next to it. It was the circle w line w/ arrows straight down. Not sure which sex that is.

iOS 10.2 has broken my 5s worse than iOS 10 did. Now it shuts down whenever it wants. And dies it multiple times a day. Great job!

Only emojis and few wallpapers? I am not going to update. I would love to wait for the jailbreak. At least, that way I can customize my i7.

Did they fix the baloney about forgetting the wi-fi network when its SSID is not broadcast? That one is highly irritating.

  9. UglyStuff says:

Says here that I already got the latest version, though I’m running 10.2 beta 7.

Can someone tell me what the build number is, so I can check?

  10. User says:

I’m not a big Emoji user. I think they’re rapidly reaching the point of diminishing returns where simply using a word is faster than rummaging through the tons of them that exist now to find the right one. But those young folk do what they do…

However, if Apple didn’t include the new ones, then there would be people upset that they didn’t keep up with the latest Unicode standards.

And despite the issues with Apple’s products of late, the company is still capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time.

Core iOS engineers are not the one entrusted with drawing new Emoji at the expense of other work.

    Seems like a decent update.

At least if one actually bothers to read about the update.

Perhaps to keep some folks happy updates to the eye candy will need to be placed at the end.

    • Pablo says:

iOS 10.2 has a lot of bug fixes and other improvements, as well as new Emoji icons. There’s a theory that Apple introduces new Emoji icons to insure people install the update, because emoji are by far one of the most popular elements of a mobile OS due to messaging etc.

I wish Apple would concentrate even more on the Emoji and less on bugs and other junk. I speak almost exclusively to others in Emoji only, and I need more options!

    • Mitchard McCornel says:

That’s why they made the EmojiBook Pro with Emoji Bar, it’s $4000 and only gets 3 hours of battery life and has no RAM but it’s all Emoji baby!

Oh boy I can’t wait to install iOS 10.2 with Emoji on my EmojiPhone 7!

  18. Emoji Ed says:

More Emoji in iOS 10.2? Wow!

I can’t wait to do it.
