iOS 14.8 updates

Apple has released iOS 14.8 and ipadOS 14.8 for iPhone and iPad users, the software update includes an important security fix and is therefore recommended for all users to install onto their devices.

Similarly, macOS Big Sur 11.6 update is available, along with security updates for Catalina and Mojave, for Mac users to receive the same security update.

How to Download & Update iOS 14.8 & iPadOS 14.8

The easiest way for iPhone and iPad users to get the latest update is via the Settings app.

  1. Open the “Settings” app from the Home Screen
  2. Go to “General”, then choose “Software Update”
  3. Select to “Download and Install” for iOS 14.8 / iPadOS 14.8

iOS 14.8 / iPadOS 14.8 is around 350mb, depending on the device, and requires a reboot to complete installation.

During installation you’ll also see a brief solicitation for previewing iOS 15, which is coming soon.

Optionally, users can install iOS 14.8 via iTunes on a PC, or Finder on a Mac, by using a USB cable and connecting the device to their computer.
