A second beta version of iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, macOS Monterey 12.4, tvOS 15.5, and watchOS 8.6 have been rolled out to developers participating in the beta testing programs.

No major new features are expected in the beta versions, suggesting the upcoming versions of system software are primarily containing bug fixes and security updates.

If you’re on an iPad or iPhone in the beta programs, downloading iOS 15.5 beta 2 and iPadOS 15.5 beat 2 is possible through the Settings app > General > Software Update.

Those in the Mac beta testing programs can go to  > System Preferences > Software Update to find macOS Monterey 12.4 beta 2.

tvOS and watchOS betas can be updated through their respective software update mechanisms as well.

It’s fairly common for Apple to go through a variety of beta builds before releasing a finalized version to the general public, suggesting the release of iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, and macOS 12.4 are still a ways out.

Apple is likely putting more effort into iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS 13, which are expected to debut as betas at the annual Apple developer conference, WWDC 2022 on June 6.

Currently, the latest available stable builds of system software are macOS Monterey 12.3.1, iOS 15.4.1, iPadOS 15.4.1, watchOS 8.5.1, and tvOS 15.4.1.
