iOS 15 and iPadOS 15

Apple has released iOS 15.7.2 for older model iPhone and iPad devices running iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, rather than iOS 16.

Separately, Apple has released iOS 16.2 for iPhone, iPadOS 16.2 for iPad, macOS Ventura 13.1 for Mac, MacOS Big Sur 11.7.2 and MacOS Monterey 12.6.2, watchOS, HomePod, and tvOS.

How to Download & Install iOS 15.7.2 / iPadOS 15.7.2

So many bugs to update my GB 200 GB NEED HELP TO SOLVE THIS

  2. JustAGuy says:

I am a touch confused because everything I’ve read says that iOS/iPad OS 16 compatible devices are not offered this update and yet while my iPhone is on 16.2 I have deliberately kept my iPad on iOS 15 as there’s a WiFi bug that has been present in 16 since launch that causes it to be slow and sluggish (trust me I’ve checked my devices on the same network and it takes much longer to load the same page on my iPhone vs iPad). My iPad is an iPad Mini 6 a fully capable iPadOS 16 device and yet last night it was offered and I updated to iOS 15.7.2. I have never ran any beta profiles on the device my iPad is strictly for content consumption so I wouldn’t do anything that would affect usability. Very bizarre and not sure why it was offered an update it shouldn’t have been.

  3. Chuck S says:

My iPhone SE (gen 3) is on 15.7.1, but the 15.7.2 update is not offered. Only upgrading to 16.2 is offered.

Being “cautious”, I want to stay on 15.7.x for now, but Apple seems to think they know best what I should do.

  4. Sim1 says:

same as here: iPhone X on OSX 15.7.1 does only offers next update as 16.2, no sign of 15.7.2

  5. Chuck Lewis says:

My experience just now: Not true on the 15.7.2 upgrade. At this time, under Software update, the update is not available to go to 15.7.2. The only update offered is 16.2

    • Paul says:

If you’re already on iOS 16.x then you will not find iOS 15.7.2 available as a download. It is for users who are staying on iOS 15 or whose devices does not support iOS 16.

I am still runing ios 15.7.1 on both my iPhone 11 and iPad Pro 9.7 and when I went to the software update page the only update apple want me to install / download is ios 16.2 :(. I was really hoping for the new ios 15.7.2. Why are you still supporting ios 15 on older iphone but not newer iphone for peoples who are not ready for ios 16. The last ios 15 should of been ios 15.7.1 even on older device so everybody still running ios 15 will all be on the same update

        • Kevin Again says:

I just install / download to ios 16 (16.2) last friday January 6, 2022. Was going to do ios 15.7.2 but that was not available which it werid since all iPad model can get it. At first my iPhone 11 was having a lock screen bug where is will not show me swipe up to unlock at the bottom right away until the screen about to turn off or go to sleep. Also my battery was dying was faster too. So I just end up doing an factory reset / clean install and that seem to take care of my problem that I was dealing with on 16.2 and now my phone it running like normal now like it was on the old 15.7.1 update. As for my iPad Pro 9.7 I install / download that to ios 15.7.2 on that same date as above as that was still available to pick from instead of going to 16.2.

      • Normand says:

I’m on 15.7.1 (iPhone XS), and I don’t see the 15.7.2 update. I can only download and install 16.2.
