Photoshop Touch for iPad

Adobe has released the first real version of Photoshop for the iPad, called Photoshop Touch. The app is impressively featured and includes much of what you’d expect from Photoshop, including full layer support, all the standard color adjustments tools, a wide variety of filters, and many of the standard selection tools and brushes that make Photoshop so fun and powerful to use.

Photoshop Touch also has some interesting features that rely on internet access, including a built in Google image search feature that makes it easy to find images to edit, and of course there’s social sharing functionality so you can show everyone else your creations. To accelerate any potential learning curve with the new interface and touch controls, Adobe included several tutorials and sample galleries with Photoshop Touch too.

Photoshop Touch requires at least an iPad 2 or newer and iOS 5 or later to use. Check out more screenshots and a video of Photoshop Touch in action, embedded below.

if they had a “premier touch” app i would use that, but i cant ever see myself using this one, i highly doubt that it has even a quarter of the functions i use in desktop computer photoshop.

I was just about to buy this so thanks Reservoir Dan! 1600px is pretty much pointless!

Guess thats why Google image search is included for low resolution images to edit!

  4. At this point it’s limited to 1600px – kind of useless. Without an immediate resolution fix the other missing features are moot.

Feels like an Air application sloppily ported over to iOS. Adobe is trying desperately hard to be irrelevant in the 21st century.

It´s as good as… Windows or Office. Congrats!

  7. Great entry into the iPad app market for Adobe. No layer filters is unfortunate, hopefully they will push an update with that soon. Could use a new app icon too, it’s pretty boring.

Whoa, an Adobe product that is only $10? That alone is news worthy. Photoshop CS costs $699, much more than an iPad costs.

Anyway, this looks great and fills a huge hole in the iPad app field: graphic design and image editing. I really look forward to trying this out on an iPad 3 in the near future :)
