For the 2TB it looks like 89.99 to me. :(

I used a WD external for a while as a Time Machine. However, the extra noise every time a backup ensued started driving me crazy. I bought a USB-powered drive which is practically noiseless. My backups probably take a little longer, but since I don’t hear it, I don’t care.

    I don’t recommand WD,
I don’t recommand USB on Mac (FireWire is better)
So this disk is not for me, and I don’t recommend it :/

  4. I’ve had nothing but trouble from each WD disk I’ve ever purchased. Luckily they failed out of the box when I was attempting to format them so I just took them right back to Fry’s. A friend ignored my thumbs down and bought one. 2 months later it just failed to show up in Disk Utility. WD sent him a replacement that was clearly remanufactured but he’d gotten a Seagate already. When the 3rd drive failed after a month, he used it to test the local gravitation constant from atop the physics building.

Just got a 3TB, I am going to partition it for Time Machine and media. Score!

I bought the exact same model in the 1TB version back in November and paid $69.99 on Amazon so this seems like a very good prices.

I use it for precisely what is mentioned here – TimeMachine. Works great!
