Beta 3 of iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, macOS Monterey 12.5, Released for Testing
Though Apple is now primarily working on beta versions of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura 13, the company is continuing to also work on beta versions for the current generation of system software. With that in mind, Apple has just released the third beta for iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, and macOS Monterey 12.5, to anyone who is enrolled in the beta programs but who hasn’t jumped forward to the major future releases.
It’s likely that these software versions include minor bug fixes and security enhancements, and they are unlikely to contain any major new features or changes.
For users enrolled in the beta testing programs for current gen system software, which is most likely app developers, you can find the latest macOS 12.5 beta, iOS 15.6 beta, and iPadOS 15.6 beta available in the Software Update section of System Preferences.
For iOS and iPadOS, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
For MacOS, go to System Preferences > Software Update.
Beta versions typically go through several releases before a final version is issued, which suggests that macOS Monterey 12.5, iOS 15.6, and iPadOS 15.6 will be widely available in several weeks.
The most recent stable versions of system software are currently iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, and macOS Monterey 12.4.
