Apple Releases New Mac Mini, Revamped iMac, & M4 MacBook Pro
Apple has spent the last few days trickling releases of new Mac hardware, debuting a revamped iMac with an M4 chip and new colors, a redesigned Mac Mini that is smaller in size and now has an M4 chip, and the MacBook Pro lineup has been revamped with M4 processors as well. Each of the new Mac models supports Apple Intelligence, but you’ll have to update to MacOS Sequoia 15.1 when they arrive to get the AI features.
All of the new Mac models are available beginning November 8, and can be pre-ordered now. If you’ve been in the market for a new and powerful Mac, these new computers very well may interest you.
M4 iMac
Apple has spec-bumped the iMac lineup to now feature M4 processors. Additionally, all iMac models finally ship with 16GB RAM as their base, though Apple is continuing to offer 256GB storage on the base models. You can customize the M4 iMac with up to 32GB RAM as well as a glare-reducing nano-texture display.
The new iMac models also offer new shades of colors, including green, yellow, blue, red, orange, purple, and gray.
Pricing on iMac begins at $1299.

M4 MacBook Pro
Last but certainly not least, Apple revamped the MacBook Pro lineup to have M4 chips, available with both the 14′ and 16″ models. 16GB RAM is now standard on the base models, and can be configured with an M4 Max processor supporting up to 128GB RAM. There are also improvements in battery life, brighter displays, and other typical spec bumps. The standard silver and black color options remain.
MacBook Pro with M4 chip starts at $1599.

These models look interesting but for me buying a desktop Mac is over for me. The MacBook Pro is overkill for my use. I will be interested in the MacBook Air when it arrives hopefully sooner rather than later. But given Appleβs rather vague charts indicating gains in M4 performance. I may look to just buying a discounted M3 Macbbok Air. Like most CPUβs the M series has sort of falling into that incremental stage of generational improvements.
