FaceTime for Mac Beta Download

facetime for mac beta

As we anticipated, FaceTime for Mac is now available… as a beta. FaceTime for Mac allows you to make FaceTime calls to iPhone 4 and iPod touch users directly from your Mac. What’s interesting is that Mac FaceTime client is it’s own independent application, it was not built into iChat, although I bet this will change come the release of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion next summer.

You can see the FaceTime for Mac client running in the above picture from Apple, and yes that’s the new MacBook Air featured in the picture.

To those of you experiencing difficulties installing, do you have Snow Leopard or just Leopard? FaceTime is for Mac OSX v 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard) or later.

  10. kittn says:

I have noted high volume of people are complaining that Facetime not working, this is because we are not reading the description, let me tell you why, if you have this version leopard 10.6.2 will not work or lower, it will only work leopard 10.6.4 or higher only,
    this what apple said.

    Thank you

  11. Connor says:

I had the same problem, but apple shouldn’t have it say that we need a security update if what we really need is an operating system update.
