OS X Mountain Lion Developer Preview 2

Apple has released OS X Mountain Lion Developer Preview 2. The new build is 12A154q, available to registered Mac developers via a redemption code exclusively through the Mac App Store. Presumably, the focus of Developer Preview 2 is bug fixes, and no new features are yet known.

OS X Mountain Lion will be released to the public this summer, and includes a AirPlay Mirroring, iMessages for Mac, Notification Center, Game Center, further iCloud integration, and a variety of other changes and refinements to Mac OS X. If you’re not a developer, you can get a lot of the Mountain Lion features in OS X Lion right now by combing third party tools and apps.

    So, How about a feature that will separate Launchpad form the Applications folder? I’d like to have only the Apps I want in Launchpad and not every single thing in the Applications folder. Huge flaw in launchpad, imo.

    There’s a preference pane made that lets you customize launchpad but from my experiences it’s really buggy and doesn’t work all to well.

    I hope that they make a more interesting startup screen, as I see it more than the desktop on my macbook sometimes. LOL

    Safari is really snappier! Also the overall experience in DP2 is much much smoother..

    Can someone tell me if there are improvements to Launchpad? It’s pretty useless in 10.7 but it could be good if they’ve added nested groups and fasted ways to select multiple apps to move at once.

  6. I’m loving the notification centre… this version seems a lot smoother!

    Apple is on a roll today

    * iPad 3

    * OS X Mountain Lion Beta 2

    * Debunking Mr Daisey’s smear campaign

    All in a days work!

    • Tom says:

      Yeah, all on the back of some serfs.

      i believe, the majority of what Daisey was saying is based n the reports lots of others have provided.

      Don’t be naive, I have lots of apple gear, but having been to China, I am not surprised at the reported working conditions, think of Europe in the 1800. They will catch up but it will take time.

      Its just sad.
