MacOS Beta and iOS Beta

Apple has released the first beta versions of iOS 10.3 and MacOS 10.12.4 to eligible users participating in the beta testing programs. The new beta builds arrive a day after the final versions of iOS 10.2.1 and MacOS 10.12.3 were released to the general public.

Users who are enrolled in the beta testing programs can find the latest beta release available to download through the software update mechanisms. In iOS, that’s through the Settings app > Software Update. In Mac OS, it’s through the  Apple menu > App Store > Updates tab.

There are several small new features being tested in the latest beta builds, including a night-shift mode for Mac OS 10.12.4, which adjusts the color hue of a screen for night time usage similar to Night Shift on iOS or Flux for Mac. Additionally, iOS 10.3 is said to include a “Find My AirPods” feature to help locate a misplaced pair of the wireless earbuds.

Beta software versions are a work in progress, and features being tested may not be included in a final release of such software.

Separately, Apple has also released a new beta version of tvOS 10.2 beta 1.

Killed the ability to cast my second screen to another mac running an AirPlay receiver app. AirServer, X-Mirage and LonelyScreen all no longer work.

Mail was also updated so plugins no longer work.

I can’t wait, hopefully it is better the f.lux. We installed it and the thing has a mind of it’s own. My wife needs it has she had eye problems that are impacted when she looks at the screen. Problem is that I installed it for her but now after I turn it off on my side, it will set the display and the only way to turn it off is to run it on my side and play around until it is turned off…

While I like that the program helps her out… I am tired of the fact that it creeps into my side even when I don’t want to use it.

Hope Nightshift works better and I can finally get rid of f.lux.
